On behalf of our entire staff of Loving Care Animal Clinic, we would like to extend a warm welcome to our clinic. Our goal is to provide the highest standard of veterinary care in a compassionate manner, to develop an open, honest alliance with our clients and to celebrate the human animal bond. We realize that your animal companions are beloved family members and we strive to treat them with special attention.

Dr. Joanne L. Carlson grew up on the northwest side of Chicago. She graduated from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine with honors in 1993. After several years in private practice, she became the Dupage County Animal Control Administrator, caring for the shelter animals. Her special interest is exotic animals and she has completed an externship and fellowship at the Lincoln Park Zoo. In addition to managing the clinic, she served as past President of the Chicago Veterinary Medical Association which helps to promote public education and awareness about veterinary medicine. Dr. Carlson’s pets include 1 dog (Shushi), 1 cat (Betty) and a cockatiel (LaLa).

Our well trained staff members are not only knowledgeable in the veterinary field, they also have sincere concern for the happiness and health of your pet.

Our community involvement includes sponsoring local youth sports teams and school events, such as post prom. We are also involved in fund raising events at local churches, Clearbrook Center and The Buddy Foundation. We provide free exams for shelter animals and discounted spay/neuter surgeries for pets adopted through the Buddy Foundation. We support the University of Illinois Companion Animal Memorial Fund which helps aid animal health research. Dr. Carlson writes public education articles for a local newspaper. She speaks at pet shows and school groups about veterinary medicine.
